The Candy Aisle: Grown Up (White) Chocolate Milkshake

Tomorrow, September 12th, is National Chocolate Milk Shake Day. I don’t know why I am just learning of this seeing as homemade chocolate milkshakes were a staple of my diet as child. Milk & ice cream! That’s like a double whammy to the Food Pyramid (I refuse to allow the government to steal my childhood memories with this new MyPlate concept). But on this glorious Holiday, which it turns out I DON’T get off work for, I thought I’d venture back down The Candy Aisle and throw in a little twist for National Chocolate Milkshake Day!

Grown Up (White) Chocolate Milkshake

½ cup white chocolate-infused vodka*
½ cup Tia Maria (or Kahlua).
2 scoops chocolate ice cream
½ cup milk

– combine ingredients in a blender
– blend until nice and thick
– pour (or scoop) into chilled milkshake glass
garnish: whipped cream (and broken waffle cone pieces)

*white chocolate infused vodka: 1 cup white chocolate morsels, 750 ml vodka; 7 days (shake daily)*

Liquor. Chocolate. Dessert. What else needs to be said?
