Drink of the Week: Pomegranate Margarita (w/ Garlic Salt)

I don’t give up on summer so easy. Especially since I am a summer baby and from Florida. Thus any summer drink with a fall twist has a good chance of being thrown into rotation during that sad time when leaves start to change color and sweaters come out of storage. Pomegranate is a great late summer early fall fruit to add a twist to any drink, especially a margarita!

Pomegranate Margarita

1.5 oz. Pomegranate infused Tequila
– ¾ oz. triple sec
– ½ oz. fresh lime juice

– rim half a Collin’s glass with garlic salt*
– combine ingredients in shaker with ice
– shake vigorously
– double strain into Collin’s glass over fresh ice
garnish: lime wedge

*garlic salt = 1 part garlic powder:3 parts kosher salt

Only rim half the glass with the garlic salt as this may not be the combination for you, but it’s worth a try. It adds a bit of a rustic foodie feel to the margarita. A great autumn play on a classic drink.
