When the question involves tequila, the answer always seems to be MARGARITA; In this case more so than ever.
Prickly pears are native to dry arid locations, very much like the agave plant that tequila is derived from. Their flavor is complimented extremely well by citrus, most notably, lime… Again, much like tequila/agave. I could go on but I’m sure by now people have skipped ahead to the margarita part.
*for the orange salt rim: zest an orange peel over the salt before rimming the coup glass with it*
2 oz. prickly pear infused tequila
1 oz. triple sec
1 oz. fresh lime juice
– combine ingredients in cocktail shaker filled with ice
– shake vigorously
– double strain into chilled coup glass
garnish: lime wheel & orange salt rim
